Item 17

Just finished reading Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill.
Currently on book 2 of Chicagoland Vampires, Friday Night Bites.
Can't help but to point out that Jennifer Rardin also use variation of the word "bite" for her Jaz Parks books' titles.

A~ny~way~
I shouldn't have put much hope on this one I guess.
I kinda expected something gory, added with some awesome kick-ass heroine, mixed with sizzling chemistry between the lead characters, and cooked to perfection with believable characters.
Hey, at least I was motivated to finish the 1st book without skipping any chapter(s), albeit it did take me 3 whole days.
(You wanna do the comparing game? I have you know that I finished Magic Strikes in 4 hours!)

So far only Ilona Andrews, Charlaine Harris & Patricia Briggs managed to maintain the awesomeness in their writings (read: I can stomach their writings only. Others? Have to be really really patient or really really bored motivated. Okay, fine. Others are not really my cup of tea. Happy now?)

Hmmph, I should switch to historical romance soon.
Or else my mind might be overloaded with these urban fantasies.
Who knows how much violence I have packed within myself?
One shouldn't tempt the sleeping devil you know.

Item 16

I'm disappointed with Kinokuniya.
I tried to pre-order Magic Bleeds through their counter before, but they asked me to come back later since it's "too early".
Turns out I didn't have the chance to physically go to the bookstore due to unforeseen circumstances.
Was it that hard to just jot down what a customer need even though it's like 2 months before the release date?
And look what happens now.
They don't even display the damn book and only have it for customers who have reserved it earlier.
I feel like bitch-slapping that male worker!

*Doing some breathing exercise*

*Inhale-Exhale-Inhale-Exhale-Fuhhhhh~*

Luckily, Uncle Google & UnderGround Forum saved the day! (I'm also a bit disappointed with the lack of updates by #ebooks :P)

Found the pdf version @ UF (thank you Leandra, I owe you!)

Spent the whole night reading it.
God, how it worth the wait!
At this point, even if the new book will only be available in hardcover, I'll spend every penny I have to own it.
It's THAT good.
Usually after 2 or 3 books, the momentum will be out and we're left with screaming fans asking for refunds.
But the Kate Daniels series is getting better and better.
In fact, in my humble opinion, Ilona & Gordon packed too many things in a book when they can come out with like at least 2 books from events in MB alone.
Thank God we have writers who believe in fast-paced story.

Oh oh.

SPOILERS ALERT

Anyway, now that Kate is Curran's mate, I can't help but to compare this series with Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson.
Granted that Adam's not as hot as Curran LOL.
After all, the lion is the KING of the jungle hoho.

It's a pity that Kate's blood relatives are made up of psychopaths.
And dare I hope that Hugh will be proven to be a help rather than a menace in the end?
I think the combination of Kate, Curran, & Hugh will provide a higher chance to defeat Roland.

Em, I hope they'll resolve the problem between Andrea & Kate in book 5.
Why do persons have to choose sides anyway, stupid Raphael.

Rain check -> Can I get a rain check on that? (C2E22/B)

To upset the apple cart -> They upset the apple cart. (C2E22/B)

Gallivanting -> Your A.P. exams are far more important for you to go gallivanting around the weekend with you friend at the beach. (C2E22/C)

This is fun.
Will try to pay attention for more in other episodes.
Notice how it's usually Beckett who get to use the cool idioms and Castle is the one with the high level vocabs? :D

7/5/2010 - LET'S PLAY WITH IDIOMS DAY

Am in a pickle, in a complete shambles.

There's nothing else that I can do beside biting the bullet.

I must not be off with the fairies.

Because the jury is still out.

M's words:
I don't know if I make sense or not.
Or if I use those idioms in the right context.
The combination of idioms that I use above really reflects how I feel now.
It'll be okay I guess.
Since it seems like most people find it hard to decipher my so-called creative writing LOL.
